After weeks of exhilarating performances, incredible dance steps and stunts, who among the hugely talented dancers will be crowned West Africa’s best? This is the question on the minds of entertainment lovers and followers of Dance with Peter, the Globacom-sponsored reality T.V show which has been ruling the airwaves since August.
The winner will be unveiled this weekend. In contention for the crown are two incredible female dancers, Amazing Amy (523) and G-Xtreem (507). They will slug it out with five equally talented male dancers, Julius Faktah (520) who is the only remaining contestant from Ghana, C-Fly (524), Da Octopus (503), Kelvin (521), and Mali Hot Boy (511).
The top prize being offered by the telecommunications operator is a Toyota Rav 4 SUV and N3million cash with an opportunity of featuring in the next P-Square music video. The first and second runners-up, on the other hand, will go home with a brand new Honda Civic car, N2million and a brand new Kia Rio car with N1million respectively and a chance to feature in a top Glo Ambassador’s music video.
Although all the seven finalists are extremely talented dancers, the top contenders going by their consistency are Julius Fakta, Kelvin Ayanruo and Amazing Amy. Fakta is a 23 year-old student of the University of Ghana. His dream is to be one of the world’s most awesome and fantastic choreographers. Kelvin is 24 years old and hails from Delta State. He came for auditions as a member of Elevators NG dance crew and was picked out by the judges to stand as a solo contestant. Amazing Amy is also being tipped by many for her amazing dance skills which incredible for her 17 years. Amy is currently seeking admission to the university. Her dream is to become a professional dancer.
The anxiety of who wins the crown will be laid to rest on Sunday when the show goes on air on African Independent Television (AIT) at 5.p.m. Those who miss the show on AIT can watch it on MTV Base on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Koko master and Glo ambassador, D’banj is expected to play a double role at the grand finale of Dance with Peter. The entertainer will in addition to entertaining the audience serve as guest judge on the final performance by the contestants.
