Judges of Dance with Peter reality TV show sponsored by Globacom have disclosed the qualities the
contestants taking part in the dancing competition should have to stand a chance of winning the mouth-
watering prizes promised by the telecom operator.
The prizes being offered by Globacom include a brand new Toyota Rav4 and N3m cash prize for the
winner as well as a Honda Civic car with N2m cash and a Kia Rio with N1m cash for the first and second
runners-up respectively.
Speaking on his expectations from the contestants, show originator, Peter Okoye of PSquare, said he was
looking for uniqueness. “I am looking for the X Factor. I need someone that can give me a distinct
performance and wow me. My advice to the contestants is for them to realize with great power and
opportunity comes great responsibility. So they have to BRING IT ON!!! They should give it their best
and hopefully they can make it to the end.” He added that “dancers are working really hard, so it is time
to appreciate them”.
“It's been impressive so far and I get motivated by the contestant even as a judge. I can really see that
they are hungry to move to the next level. The plan for the finals is to blow the viewers away, not only
with the standard of the show but also the improvement of the dancers over the episodes. So I urge all the
contestants to cease the moment to make history for themselves,” Peter stated.
For Don Flexx, PSquare’s choreographer who is also a judge in the Dance with Peter show, “I'm looking
out for creativity, originality, someone who is smart and can think out of the box in delivering tasks
giving to them.”
“So far for me the quality of Contestants has been impressive and they can surely be groomed to be of
quality standard as we progress in the show. My advice to the dancers, therefore, is to stay humble,
hungry and most especially be disciplined to prevail at the end of the show. These qualities will help them
learn a lot as they progress in the competition,” Flexx added.
On her part, Nigeria’s dance queen and female judge, Kaffy, 'I am looking for originality. The dancers
should be comfortable and bring out the dance from their soul.” I would be looking forward to seeing
dancers take advantage of the mentorship by the judges to metamorphose from what they were when they
entered and blossom to a better version of themselves.
“My advice right now is that those being chosen for the finals means there's a lot expected from them. We
are not going to take it easy on them, so they should remain humble, open to creative ideas and be wise
with constructive criticism as this show was created to build and not to destroy anyone”.
Kaffy also commended the quality of dancers on the show. “We chose the finalists not just because of
their ability to dance but also because of the potential we saw in them to grow and become more
developed in their craft. The crown for top position will be keenly contested as I foresee a lot of them
surprising us in the show.”
