The judges of the dance oriented TV show, Dance with Peter, sponsored by Globacom, have highlighted the key requirements anyone seeking to emerge the ultimate winner needs to fulfil to take home the grand prize of a brand new Toyota Rav4 and N3m cash.
The three judges of the show, Peter Okoye of PSquare, Don Flexx and Kaffy shed light on the key qualities they are looking for in the contestants.
Peter Okoye, “I am looking for the X Factor. I need someone that can give me a distinct performance and wow me. My advice to the contestants is for them to realize that with great power and opportunity comes great responsibility. So they have to BRING IT ON!!! They should give it their best and hopefully they can make it to the end.” He added that “dancers are working really hard, so it is time to appreciate them.”
“It's been impressive so far and I get motivated by the contestant even as a judge. I can really see that they are hungry to move to the next level. The plan for the finals is to blow the viewers away, not only with the standard of the show, but also the improvement of the dancers over the episodes. So, I urge all the contestants to seize the moment to make history for themselves,” Peter said.
Fellow judge and PSquare’s choreographer, Don Flexx, said, “I'm looking out for creativity, originality, someone who is smart and can think out of the box in delivering tasks given to him.”
“So far, for me, the quality of Contestants has been impressive and they can surely be groomed to be of quality standard as we progress in the show. My advice to the dancers, therefore, is to stay humble, hungry and most especially be disciplined to prevail at the end of the show. These qualities will help them learn a lot as they progress in the competition,” Flexx added.
Also commenting on the qualities the judges are looking for, dance queen and Guinness Book of World Record holder for the longest dance ever, Kaffy said, “I am looking for originality. The dancers should be comfortable and bring out the dance from their soul. I would be looking forward to seeing dancers take advantage of the mentorship by the judges to metamorphose from what they were when they entered and blossom to a better version of themselves.”
“My advice right now is that those being chosen for the finals means there's a lot expected from them. We are not going to take it easy on them, so they should remain humble, open to creative ideas and be wise with constructive criticism as this show was created to build and not to destroy anyone.”
Commenting generally on the quality of dancers on the show, she said, “We chose the finalists not just because of their ability to dance but also because of the potential we saw in them to grow and become more developed in their craft. The crown for top position will be keenly contested as I foresee a lot of them surprising us in the show.”
The first runner-up in the show will go home with a Honda Civic car with N2m cash. The second runner-up will go home with a Kia Rio with N1m cash.
